Is there any wayt to stop Word from automatically changing the first letter of a new line to a capital?  You bet there is.  The AutoCorrect option can be very annoing at times.  This tip will show you how to turn it off.

  • Start by choosing AutoCorrect Options from the Tools menu
  • Make sure you are on the AutoCorrect tab
  • Remove the check mark on the item entitled Capitalize the First Letter of Sentences?
  • Click OK and you are good to go.

Note:  If you’re using Word 2007, you can get to AutoCorrect Options by clicking the Office button up in the top left corner.  Click Word Options and then click on Proofing in the left pane.  Click the AutoCorrect Options button, and remove the check mark from the Capitalize First Letter of Sentences.  Once again, click OK and you’re done!
